Services for Teachers

ChemistryLab Gadolin offers schools and educational institutes support in learning and teaching of chemistry.

Active study visits

The study visits to ChemistryLab Gadolin are free of charge. Teacher can book a visit online our website, and then agree on the details of the content of the visit with our coordinator and guides. The visits last for 1 to 8 hours and include experimental laboratory work, computer modeling, and visits to different research laboratories within the Department of Chemistry. It is also possible to book a motivational presentation regarding learning of chemistry, and different studying and working possibilities in the field.

Chemistry briefcases for loan

ChemistryLab Gadolin loans briefcases that have the equipment for a chemistry experiment for 30 pupils. The idea of the briefcase is to motivate the students and offer variety to the chemistry experiments conducted in schools. The briefcase contains the equipment, chemicals, protection gear, and instructions. The briefcases can be borrowed for free and the loan period is 2 weeks.

Teaching materials

All ChemistryLab Gadolin's instructions and slideshow presentations can be found online our website. This enables conducting of the experiments at school, if the needed equipment and reagents are at hand. Chemistry Lab Gadolin produces new instructions for new measuring instruments and experiments frequently. The experiments are developed in collaboration with the researchers of the Department and experts from industry and manufacture. This adds to the authenticity of the experiments, and puts them into wider context related to the different applications used in chemistry.

Up-dating training

ChemistryLab Gadolin participates actively in the up-dating training of teachers, and distributes the current information on the new experiments, practices and research in chemistry teaching. ChemistryLab Gadolin offers consultation for teachers in teaching of experiments, molecular modelling, and in evaluation of the feasibility of instructions when needed, also for other experiments than its own.
